Wordsmith AI builds an AI command center for in-house legal teams. The platform automates the routine work that slows legal departments down: intake of internal requests, question answering, contract redlines, document drafting and legal research. The stated aim is to let lawyers work at the speed of the business they support, rather than at the pace of manual review.

The product suite comprises the Wordsmith AI Command Center and its component capabilities. Automated Intake handles incoming legal requests to reduce internal questions and fire drills; Legal Q&A provides AI-driven answers to legal queries; Contract Redlines applies automated redlining to agreements; Drafting offers AI-assisted preparation of legal documents; and Legal Research covers automated research tasks. The underlying technical work spans AI and machine learning, natural language processing and contract review and document drafting automation.

Wordsmith AI operates from Edinburgh, London and New York, with the team composed of engineers, designers and legal practitioners. Working practices are hybrid, with three days per week required in the Edinburgh or London offices, and the company describes a high-trust environment in which staff own work from architectural decisions through to user experience. The company is backed by Index Ventures and is scaling across London, New York and beyond.
